Skill: conditional EV, position managementFirm echo: Optiver, Flow Traders

The contract settles at the sum of five cards dealt without replacement from a 52-card deck (A=1, J=11, Q=12, K=13). Cards are revealed one by one. Before each reveal a bot quotes a market. You may buy or sell up to 2 lots per step, building a position.

Fair value at any moment is the revealed total plus the number of hidden cards times the average of the cards still left in the deck.

fair = Σ revealed + (hidden cards) × (deck total left ÷ cards left)
Shorthand
  • Five cards start at 35. Every reveal: fair moves by (card − deck average) roughly.
  • A low card seen makes the rest of the deck slightly richer. Use the remaining average.
  • Position = risk. If you are long 4 and fair falls 3, you lost 12. Size to edge.
